2 PLUSS 2 FROM DALTONS WADKIN

Kimla and CEHISA for North Devon Manufacturer.  Hard on the heels of two Salvador automatic crosscutting systems the Pluss Organisation approached Daltons Wadkin once again with a view to meeting an increased requirement for high quality edge banding and CNC machining.

Pluss, one of the largest national disability employers within the UK, have hitherto specialised in bed frame production at their Barnstaple premises but are now expanding their activities to incorporate the supply of quality panel work for the fitting out of a high profile hotel chain. This work requires Pluss to provide CNC machined panels as well as rapid production of top quality edge banding. Bearing in mind the success of the Salvador crosscutting systems recently supplied by Daltons Wadkin the company had no hesitation in approaching Sales Director Andy Walsh once again, and after visits to the company’s Nottingham showroom to evaluate the equipment on offer a CEHISA Pro-12 edge bander and a Kimla BPF2131 3-axis CNC router were selected.

Daltons Wadkin provided working demonstrations on both machines in order to give Pluss the reassurance that their investment would meet all their needs. The Pro-12 is one of the most popular models in the CEHISA range and aimed at larger volume panel processors, incorporating DUO-MELT glue unit for working with PUR and EVA adhesives, pre-milling, twin station corner rounding units, radius scrapers, glue scrapers, buffing unit, and automatic head positioning, all controlled from an intuitive touch screen control.

The Kimla BPF2131 3 axis CNC is a large format nesting router. The heavy duty construction, high speed precision machining and included nesting software make it ideal for working on a range of materials where efficiency and versatility is key.

Both machines were delivered, installed and commissioned at the Pluss factory in Barnstaple and Enterprise Manager (Manufacturing) David Jenkins is delighted with this further purchase, “Daltons Wadkin have once again risen to the occasion, their care and attention to detail throughout the whole transaction being second to none. We are already seeing the benefits derived from these two machines which when added to the vastly speeded up crosscutting performance provided by the two Salvadors has raised our production facility to an entirely new level.”

Andy Walsh said, “We now have four machines operating continually at the Pluss factory and are delighted once again to have made a significant contribution to the performance of their manufacturing processes.”
