HSE Publications

Good news from HSE - they have now made over 200 publications available for free download, previously only hard copies were available at a charge per publication.  Further information on the announcement is at http://www.hse.gov.uk/news/2009/free-guidance.htm.

Unfortunately HSE are not publishing a list of free downloads, it is therefore necessary to search for the publication of interest on the HSE website http://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/index.htm and then to check for a download button (usually at the bottom of the web page).  Any problems give Geoff Isenman a call on 0778 696 3055 or e mail geoff.isenman@wmsa.org

 

BSI Standards

As new EN standards are published the WMSA receive a free library copy.  We are able to send this ‘library' copy to any member for reference but unfortunately the WMSA member is not able to make a copy as they will infringe BSI strict copyright policy, and the ‘library' copy must be returned to the WMSA.

You may be interested to know that BSI EN standards are available at a number of local libraries where you can take copies of selected pages at a small cost.

If you need a hard copy of an EN Standard the good news is that the WMSA is able to obtain a 50% discount on hard copies purchased from BSI.

Unfortunately BSI do not allow us to send a standard electronically by .pdf file - this infringes their copyright policy.
